How to Pick Out Your Classic Gold Wedding Band
Shopping for a wedding band can be a stressful experience- there are so many options with so many variations, how do you choose?
Well, we have put together this outline of some of our best-selling classic gold wedding bands to help with your search. Whether it is in yellow, white, or rose gold, these few tips are key when picking out your forever ring!
Gold Color & Karat
The first thing you are going to want to figure out is your choice of Gold and Karat (if you don't want to go the route of gold, check out our post about alternative bands!)
The standard classics are solid 14k yellow gold, 14k white gold, or 14k rose gold. You can select a different karat, such as 10k or 18k, but they are not as common as 14k.
Next, you are going to decide what width you want the band to be. Common widths are 2-4mm for women, and 4-6mm for men.
The next step will be to determine what profile you would like on the band- the most common are half round or flat.
Another portion of your ring profile is if you would like a comfort fit- this simply means the interior of the band is rounded in, helping the ring to fit more comfortably on your hand.
The fourth thing you will need to decide is the finish you would like on your ring. The most common is a high-polish, which is a super shiny finish. Another common finish is a brushed matte. These are the two options we use!
The last thing you will need to know is your ring size! You can stop into the shop anytime to get sized by one of our metalsmiths.
If you are not local to Grand Rapids Michigan, most jewelry stores can size you!
